Cellular reprogramming; including the differentiation of disease‐relevant induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) represents the fastest and most promising means of transforming drug discovery and ushering in a new era of therapeutics discovered using actual patient cells as the basis of discovery. This breakthrough provides additional hope for patients with a multitude of diseases, especially neurological and metabolic diseases where iPierian is concentrating its research and development activities.

To accelerate the application of iPS technology to the drug discovery and development process, iPierian has built one of the most qualified teams of stem cell scientists in the world. Our internationally-renowned scientific founders include leaders of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and the Gladstone Institute, whose diverse professional expertise support our goals at iPierian. Drs. George Daley, Douglas Melton and Lee Rubin, who are also faculty members at Harvard University, and Dr. Deepak Srivastava, a faculty member at University of California, San Francisco, are actively involved in decisions regarding the scientific direction and research priorities for iPierian. The overarching goal of our scientific advisors is to translate academic achievements in stem cell research into disease‐relevant technologies for drug discovery and ultimately new regenerative therapies to help patients with a broad range of diseases.
